Green Ocean Ferry
Budget-friendly private ferry with an open upper deck on Green Ocean 1.
Green Ocean has been running private passenger ferries in the Andaman Islands since 2014. The fleet has two different vessels: Green Ocean 1 is a 316-seat twin-hull catamaran with the only accessible open upper deck in the private fleet, and Green Ocean 2 is a roughly 190-seat monohull used on the same sectors. Fares are usually the lowest among private operators, which makes Green Ocean a common choice for budget travellers.
About Green Ocean
What makes Green Ocean different
Green Ocean has been running private passenger ferries in the Andaman Islands since 2014. The fleet has two different vessels: Green Ocean 1 is a 316-seat twin-hull catamaran with the only accessible open upper deck in the private fleet, and Green Ocean 2 is a roughly 190-seat monohull used on the same sectors. Fares are usually the lowest among private operators, which makes Green Ocean a common choice for budget travellers.
The operator sells three seat classes -- Economy, Premium and Royal. Economy is Green Ocean 1 only; Premium and Royal run on both vessels. Checked against the schedules feed on 27 August 2026, Green Ocean sailings appeared on Port Blair to Havelock, Havelock to Port Blair, Havelock to Neil and Neil to Port Blair, and not on every date sampled. Do check live schedules before travel.

Green Ocean fares -- how the classes differ
We no longer publish a static fare table for Green Ocean: sector pricing moves, and a stale table is worse than none. The live search at the top of this page and the schedule panel on each route page below show the exact fare per class for your travel date. Here is what each class actually gets you.
Child fares are typically 50% of adult and infants under 2 usually travel free, but the exact rule varies by operator -- confirm at booking.

Cancellation & refunds
Green Ocean ferry cancellation policy
Green Ocean follows a tiered cancellation policy applied by Go2Andaman at the time of refund. Charges depend on how far in advance you cancel:
- More than 72 hours before departure: Typically 10–15% cancellation fee; the balance is refunded to the original payment method.
- 24–72 hours before departure: 25–50% cancellation fee depending on the class booked.
- Less than 24 hours before departure: Usually non-refundable; a no-show is also treated as a cancellation.
- Weather cancellations: If Green Ocean cancels the sailing itself (rough seas, technical issues), you're entitled to a full refund or free rescheduling to the next available service.
To cancel, go to ferry.go2andaman.com/my-booking, pull up your reservation and hit "Cancel". Refunds typically reach your account in 5–7 working days.
Save on tickets
How to get discounts on Green Ocean ferry tickets
Private Andaman ferries rarely run fixed discounts, and the fare-timing tricks that work on flights mostly do not work here. We checked the published fares against the live feed rather than repeat the usual advice, and this is what it actually shows:
- The class you pick matters more than the sailing you pick. On Green Ocean the lead-in class is Economy, and the gap between it and the top class is far larger than any gap between departures on the same day. Choose the class first.
- The first departure is usually not dearer. Comparing departures on the same day, same sector and same class in the live feed, roughly two thirds were priced identically, and where a later sailing was cheaper the difference was ₹100 to ₹400. Booking a mid-morning sailing to save money is as likely to save you nothing as anything.
- Do not assume a cheap class is the one that sells out. On the sailings we checked, the cheapest class was almost never the one with the fewest seats left. Use the live panel above, which shows seats remaining per class, instead of booking up a class on the assumption that the cheap one will go.
- Season moves fares for some operators and not others. Comparing the same sector, vessel and class between September dates and December-January ones, Makruzz was cheaper in September on nearly every class, Green Ocean did not move at all, and Nautika was dearer in September more often than cheaper. Rather less than half the comparisons came out identical, so there is movement -- there is just no single cheap month that holds across operators. Check the date you actually want in the search bar above.
- Groups: For a large party, contact Go2Andaman customer support before booking seat by seat. We do not publish a group rate because Green Ocean does not publish one.
We have not found a published student, senior or concession fare for Green Ocean. If you have seen one, it is not in the operator's fare data we can read, so do not plan around it.
