It is known for the natural rock bridge at Laxmanpur, the snorkelling patch at Bharatpur Beach and its unhurried beach shacks. The direct crossing from Port Blair is roughly 22 nautical miles (~36 km) and takes 90 minutes to 2.5 hours on a private high-speed ferry. Several sailings each day are routed via Havelock -- the indirect path works out closer to 56 nautical miles -- so do check whether your ticket is a direct service or a multi-leg journey.
